Our Story:
Ivan was born in the small town of Tomislavgrad, but moved to Zagreb as a child when the war began in the early nineties. After finishing his Law degree at the University of Zagreb years later, he took some time to travel and live abroad. It was while visiting other countries that he realized the uniqueness and appeal of his homeland, and all that Croatia has to offer.
Sarah was born and raised in Burlington, Canada, and took some time to travel abroad after finishing her Sociology degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Croatia was one of the places she visited, and she was astounded by the unequivocal beauty. She fell in love with the country (and a kind hearted Croat named Ivan).
Fast forward several years to 2012, when Sarah & Ivan eventually decided to make Zagreb their home together. Here they began developing the idea of Royal Croatian Tours, and they believed that with Ivan’s local knowledge and Sarah’s western approach and mindset, they’d make a great match for business.
Their vision was simple - to show the wonders of the country, while providing local experiences, with unmatched client support.
After spending a few years developing the concept more fully and getting to know partners all over the country, Royal Croatian Tours was officially launched in 2015. Ivan & Sarah now work with a team of passionate and experienced locals and professionals to make each guest’s visit, one to remember.
