As I set foot in Porec's old town, it felt like stepping into a time capsule. The charming cobbled streets and ancient temples transported me back to the Roman era.

Symmetrical layouts, the Decumanus Maximus, and Cardo Maximus led me to the Forum, now known as Marafor Square, where I marveled at the remnants of two ancient temples.

It was fascinating to walk in the footsteps of history and see how this town's ancient layout still lives on.

A Glimpse of Byzantine Glory: Euphrasian Basilica

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the awe-inspiring Euphrasian Basilica.

As I descended 60 meters below the ground, the cave's stalactites and stalagmites mesmerized me. The constant temperature of 14°C was a welcome relief from the summer heat.

After the guided tour, I enjoyed some snacks and learned about old tractors - such an unexpected treat!
