United Airlines will fly direct to Dubrovnik again this summer (2022).
The New York-Newark-Dubrovnik route will start on May 27, and will go 4 times a week until the end of the season. The last flight of the season will be October 26.
United Airlines will use a Boeing 767-300 aircraft for this route.
Zagreb and Toronto were directly connected from 2016 to 2019 with a pause of 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, this year the Canadian airline Air Transat will reconnect the two cities with direct flights this summer (2022).
The flights will go once a week from May 8, and then will pick up to twice a week from June 7. The flight from Toronto to Zagreb will depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays with arrival in Zagreb on Wednesdays and Sundays. The last flight of the season will be October 30, 2022.

It’s pity that Air Canada has no plans to rebuild its pre-pandemic line connecting Toronto and Zagreb this year.
The good news for visitors flying from parts of Asia, is that from this year Korean Air will again introduce a direct route Seoul - Zagreb, which will fly 4 times a week from July to October.
Direct flights to cities in the region (close enough to drive into Croatia)
The Polish LOT flies directly from Budapest to New York from June to September, and Budapest is connected to Toronto by Air Canada from May to October, so that could be a good alternative to a direct flight (you could then pick up a rental car and drive to Croatia).
There are several direct flights from Venice to the USA and in the summer months they are a good option because Venice and the beautiful Croatian city of Rovinj are connected by ferry line and the ride itself takes about 3 hours. So you can start your journey through Croatia by way of the Istrian peninsula.
Venice itself is connected by direct flights with the American cities of New York, Philadelphia and Atlanta in the period from May to October and the Canadian Toronto and Montreal in the period from April to October
The most connected city with North America in the region near Croatia is definitely Vienna. Vienna is connected by 6 direct flights with North America.
Vienna is directly connected to 4 American cities these are New York, Chicago, Washington and Los Angeles, and Canadian Toronto and Montreal.
Vienna is connected to Zagreb by train, bus and air, and the ride can take up to 5 hours. The flight takes about an hour to Zagreb.
Another city in the region has a direct connection with New York in the region and that is Belgrade. Air Serbia plans to fly to New York 6 times a week this summer. It will first fly 2 to 3 times a week and plans to fly 4 times from May 15 and 6 times from June 20. Belgrade is connected to Zagreb by bus, train and air. The car ride takes just over 4 hours.
