Travel Croatia the right way with these 10 tips!

Planning your next vacation to Croatia? Make sure you check off these 10 items for an ultimate holiday in one of the most enticing countries on the planet. These are my absolute favourite and top things to see and do while travelling Croatia. There are of course a million other things to see and do, but you just can’t miss out on the following:
Picture
1. Make sure you do a sailing excursion around one of the 1200 islands off the coast of Croatia. You'll be pinching yourself as you soak up the sun and the breathtaking views and feel like you have the entire Adriatic to yourself.
Picture
2. Make sure you do a cooking class with a local expert to experience the rich, authentic flavours of this exquisite cuisine. This way, when you get back home, you'll be able to prepare some local specialties, impress your friends and not feel so sad that you're not in Croatia anymore.

3. Make sure you walk the walls in dubrovnik to revel in the magic of this little piece of history. You can never do this too many times as the awe-inspiring views never get old. No matter how many times I travel to Dubrovnik, I always seem to be amazed by this walled beauty.

4. Make sure you go to a vineyard for a wine tasting to enjoy the local varieties, right where they’re grown. Wine tasting is an essential activity when visiting any foreign country, in my opinion!

5. Make sure you listen to the sea organs in Zadar to hear a true symphony of the waves. There's literally nothing like it because it's the only one in the world, so don't miss this little gem. Record a minute or two with your mobile device so you can listen to it again when you're back home for some relaxation. Don't forget to watch the solar light display which charged all day long, also guided by the movement of the sea, called "Greetings to the Sun."
6. Make sure you listen to a capella singers in the Dalmatian streets for a real acoustic treat. You might even shed a tear because it's so beautiful so bring some tissues and be prepared.
Picture
7. Make sure you pick up some handicrafts from the sweet local people. You won't find anything like this in the stores back home. Hours of work are put into each product and it'll surely be a conversation piece in your home.
Picture
8. Make sure you hike to one of the countless peaks overlooking the Adriatic for a sensational view and perspective. There are just no words to describe the beauty that awaits at these peaks, so I won't even try. Please do one hike and send me some pictures.

9. Make sure you taste the olive oil fresh from nearby groves. With olive trees scattered all around the coast, you'll never be far from some home-made goodness.

10. Make sure you visit Plitvice Lakes National Park to get lost in Mother Nature's finest piece of work. This national park seems like something out of a fairy tale or a beautiful painting, but I assure you, it's real, and it just has to be seen in person.

Please don’t leave Croatia if you haven’t gotten through at least half of this list. You can save the others for your next visit(s). Let me know which ones you liked best! Am I missing any crucial items?

Happy travels!

Sarah
