Best 5* Star Hotels in Split, Croatia + Notable 4* Choices

Planning a luxurious trip to Split, Croatia and want the best of the best for hotels? Here are my top recommendations for 5 star hotels, as well as a few 4 star hotels that are definitely worth mentioning!

There are just two 5 star hotels in Split I would highly recommend: Hotel Posh (a very small, all suites hotel) and Hotel Park (a bit larger than Posh, but a classic, luxurious hotel).

If you aren’t able to book either of the 5 star options, then I would suggest booking a luxury 4 star hotel, like Palace Judita or Hotel Cardo (both very boutique hotels in the center). Hotel Cornaro (modern hotel, also very central) is also a great choice, along with a few others I’ll outline below.

Hotel Posh 5*

Since it's an All Suites hotel, all 6 accommodation units are self contained apartments of the highest category. They are designed and made to provide guests with maximum comfort.

With a private "infinity pool" and breathtaking views overlooking the sea, beautiful wellness (gym, sauna and massages ) and private garage, Hotel Posh will satisfy the wishes of all guests, as a unique, luxurious oasis.

Hotel Park 5*

This luxury 5 star hotel in Split has been around since 1921 and there are now 72 rooms (expanded from 57). Within these rooms, there are 7 luxury apartments, some specially designed business rooms, and of course many other beautiful, spacious rooms for luxury travelers.

The hotel has a spa, an outdoor pool & garden, and a stunning, spacious lobby. Guests love the comfortable, modern rooms, the incredibly helpful staff, all of the amenities, as well as their delicious breakfast spread.

Hotel Park is near the center, but enough out of the main tourist area, that you get some peace. It’s an ideal location, which also faces the beach, so there are some exceptional views.

This is definitely a top choice when in Split if you’re looking for a classy, modern, luxurious stay, with exceptional service.

Palace Judita 4*

Palace Judita describes itself as a hotel for lovers of culture, as it’s a heritage hotel that’s set in a palace dating back to the 16th century (and also located next to Diocletian’s Palace, which is a UNESCO heritage site).

Palace Judita is a charming, boutique hotel, with a picturesque location, right in the heart of the city. The hotel is known for their incredible staff who go above and beyond to make your stay personal, comfortable, and worry free.

The rooms are spacious and clean with great views of the town. There’s a wonderful ambient to the hotel with gorgeous details throughout - they really did a beautiful job renovating this historic property into what it is today.

The service, style, location and overall experience of staying here is what makes Palace Judita special.

Heritage Hotel Cardo 4*

Heritage Hotel Cardo is a new little gem in the center of Split, right within the grounds of Diocletian’s Palace. The hotel showcases baroque interiors blended with authentic Roman architecture, and creates an incredible feel for history lovers to be within the walls of the palace.

Hotel Cardo is a small, boutique heritage hotel with an intimate and exclusive feel, featuring 5 luxurious rooms in total. It is beautifully and stylishly decorated throughout, and is full of character.

The staff are also incredibly friendly, attentive and willing to help with anything to make your stay as perfect as can be.

Cornaro Hotel 4*

Hotel Cornaro is located in the center of Split, just a 2-minute walk from the UNESCO-protected Diocletian's Palace. The location is perfect for exploring the old town, while being just slightly outside the palace walls, it makes for a very peaceful stay.

Hotel Cornaro isn’t a small boutique hotel, but it’s a lovely higher-end 4* with a gorgeous rooftop terrace, hot tub and bar, and all of the rooms are very comfortable, modern and spacious.

The staff is very friendly, helpful and ready to assist when needed.

Villa Split Heritage Hotel 4*

Villa Split Heritage Hotel is a boutique hotel is housed in a 10th-century building, excellently located within the UNESCO site, Diocletian’s Palace.

The building is gorgeous and historical with a charming ambience, beautifully renovated and decorated throughout. With only 6 rooms in total (all spacious and comfortable), it’s a boutique hotel experience, and the staff treat you like family, always willing to go above and beyond to ensure your happiness.

Heritage Hotel 19, 4*

Heritage Hotel 19 is a gorgeous little boutique hotel in the center of Split, within walking distance to all of the historic locations, as well as the promenade by the sea. It’s beautifully and tastefully decorated, with some elegant furnishings.

There is a stunning, private, outdoor courtyard where you can relax, eat breakfast or lunch, or just enjoy a tranquil little spot in the middle of the busy crowds of the city. The hotel has a beautiful setting, and relatively quiet location, despite being just off the main promenade.

The personalized service at Heritage Hotel 19 is outstanding, and definitely another reason guests keep coming back.

Piazza Heritage Hotel 4*

Located in the heart of Split, Piazza Heritage Hotel is very near the UNESCO-protected Diocletian’s Palace, and is also set in a historic UNESCO building itself.

It’s a boutique hotel with only 10 rooms, and it has been beautifully renovated and decorated in Art Nouveau style. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with elegant decor. Some rooms feature stunning city views over the square.
Staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with special requests.

Murum Heritage Hotel 4*

Murum Heritage Hotel is another amazing boutique hotel in the historic center of Split, right within the walls of Diocletian’s Palace. With only 7 rooms, the hotel gives you a very personal approach and are very helpful and eager to make your stay memorable.

The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated with gorgeous stone walls, along with many windows to create an airy feel. Though it’s located in the heart of the city, the rooms are quite peaceful so you can sleep well each night.
